Silver and bronze for para swimmers

Annabelle Williams (Australia) wins silver in the 50m at the Delhi Commonwealth Games.  South Africa’s Natalie Du Toit, took out the gold with England’s Leigh Millward taking the bronze. Fellow Aussie Ellie Cole then took out the bronze in the 100m freestyle, narrowly edging out Williams who finished fourth.

Annabelle is competing at her second Commonwealth Games, having debuted in Melbourne in 2006.

Annabelle is truly a talented sportswoman. She began her career as a track and field athlete but was forced to retire due to a series of stress fractures. She then turned her attention to the pool and proceeded to win a bronze medal at the Beijing Paralympics.

The multitalented Annabelle is currently studying international relations and law at Bond University in Queensland and plans to continue swimming at  least until London 2012.
