Layne Beachley, play it safe

The Play it Safe by the Water Surfing For Girls presented by Oakley and EVO is back for the summer to get girls into the water and having fun!

The program will cover 11 stops along the Victorian Coastline starting at Phillip Island and ending at Ocean Grove.

An exciting addition to this years Phillip Island stop will be seven times Surfing World Champion Layne Beachley who will officially launch the program for the summer.

Beachley will be hanging out with the girls and giving them some important tips on surfing and safety in the water.

This is a once in a lifetime for Phillip Island girls to gain an insight into one of Australia’s greatest ever athletes.

Surfing Victoria CEO Max Wells believes this is a great opportunity to meet and learn from one of the greatest surfers the world has seen.

“I encourage all girls to get along to their local beach and learn from some of the best coaches in the state while having heaps of fun!”

The program is aimed at the surfer who has passed the learn to surf stage and who owns their own equipment. Coaches will be on hand to instruct the girls in and out of the water and will help them develop strategie which will enable them to become better surfers.

For just $20, participants will receive a day of surfing lessons, an Oakley t-shirt, show bag and surprise giveaways!

All participants will receive surfing instruction from some of the best surf coaches in the state, and is amazing value for money.

Oakley is once again back to give girls a great introduction to surfing and give them some important skills in the water.

EVO Hair Products will be joining the team this year along with Oakley and will be providing the girls with plenty of giveaways throughout the days.

Global Surf Industries are once again supporting sponsors and will be providing some boards to try out on the day.
